RE:Anima recognized as best animation school in Animafest Zagreb, 2026
On 8 June, the Erasmus Mundus RE:Anima Master’s programme in animation, led by Lusófona University in partnership with the Luca School of Arts in Belgium and Aalto University in Finland, was named ‘best animation school’ by Animafest Zagreb, one of the world’s leading animation film festivals. The jury, comprising the festival director, Daniel Šuljić, and members of the student film selection committee, Maida Srabović and David Lovrić, highlighted the films’ distinctive authorial style: “(...) films emerging from the RE:ANIMA programme share a common characteristic: a strong personal signature, both visually and in narrative approach. The following day, there was a special screening of the programme and a selection of films produced by the first three cohorts of the course, attended by the Portuguese Ambassador to Croatia, Dr Maria Manuel Durão.
