RE:Anima master's degree was the big winner in the School Films category at the Festa Mundial da Animação, an event organised by Casa da Animação, which took place this year in Vila Velha de Ródão, Portugal.
The itinerancy of the Festa Mundial da Animação, which takes animated cinema to different regions of the country, mirrors the spirit of the RE:Anima master's degree — an international programme that brings together students from multiple backgrounds in three European countries, encouraging intercultural sharing and the creation of new stories through animation.
According to Casa da Animação, the trophies ‘pay tribute to the 40th anniversary of the film OH QUE CALMA and the 30th anniversary of the film FADO LUSITANO, both directed by Abi Feijó’. The coincidence is particularly symbolic, since during their semester in Portugal (October 2024), RE:Anima students participated in an artistic residency with Abi Feijó and Regina Pessoa at the Casa Museu de Vilar.
