Creative Animation Ateliers
Students apprehend the principles of narration, dramaturgy and structure, which can be applied to classical, abstract, poetic and interactive forms of storytelling in animation. In groups of 2-3 they create their own audiovisual narrative (in a form of their choice), and develop this through the stages of premise, synopsis, treatment, script, storyboard, and animatic, including keyposing and sound concept. Heterogeneous groups will be formed, consisting of students from different nationalities and cultural-artistic backgrounds. The dialogue, confrontation, similarities, and/or juxtaposition of their contexts will serve as a starting point for the (expanded) narratives they create. The resulting animatic should contain a hybrid of stylistic and thematic influences, and a reflection upon the different realities that are represented in each group.
