Creative Animation Ateliers
Students are taken on a condensed run through the different phases of animation film development, which results in the creation of one (expanded) animation short film or installation, which can be used as a portfolio item. The focus lies on creation in context. Students will work within the confines of a specific project that is ongoing at the campus. The school organizes, for instance, frequent collaborations with local NGO’s and cultural instances, and we have several research projects that relate to animation film, such as Seeing Sound (www.seeingsound.be). Specific requirements of the course vary from year to year, as they depend on the specific nature of the project(s) that will be connected to. Students have to demonstrate proficiency in creating high quality animations (in either 2D, 3D, stop motion or other style), in communicating with peers and stakeholders, and in completing a delineated assignment within due time.
